Crazyrun: great success for the race that started at the Fattoria Montecchio

As usual the race was run by many participants and onlookers who enjoyed this 2017 edition. It was 500 kilometres long and was held on two days between San Donato in Poggio (Tavarnelle Val di Pesa) and Pietrasanta, near the coast whose municipality supported the initiative.
The craziest race in Italy saw 80 cars such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, antique cars, hyper cars, supercars and unconventional cars participate in a Treasure hunt lasting 48 hours, with 10 check points and 10 selection points. At each leg the team had to show proof of passing the necessary test in order to register its personal badge for the following leg and obtain the envelope with instructions for the next leg. Each hint and enigma had a certain time limit allotted to it, which the competitors had to respect.

The typical Tuscan dinner was also a great success, offered by the Fattoria Montecchio on the eve of the race. The participants particularly like the traditional Tuscan food and the home grown and pressed extra virgin olive oil wines made by the Fattoria Montecchio.
Best of all was the start, when all the engines turned on and roared their enthusiasm to get going. They left from Fattoria Monteccho, which had become the organisational centre, to the cheers of the on lookers.

The winner of this year´s Crazyrun was the team Spaccacuori 31 in Ferrari California T, second was the team, Gli Elbani 27, in Porsche 991 Carrera 4s and third prize went to the team Taxi Driver 81 in Jaguar F-type R.
The teams that best interpreted the crazy spirit of the race were also awarded prizes: Che Minkia Guaddi 2 in Ferrari 458 Speciale for its Crazy Camouflage, then Polizei 6 in Volkeswagon 6, dressed as German police and the all girls team in official uniforms. The Classic Crazy Car prize went to Deua 697 97 in a 1971 BMW 2.8 CS. The Luxury Paint prize went to the team Girls RM Autosport 10 in a SLR Mercedes McLaren.

Many of the participants had already taken part in the previous editions but those who were new comers were delighted and said they look forward to coming back next year for another edition of the CRAZY RUN race!
