Besides the great wine, Tuscany and in particular Chianti, have always been synonymous with extravirgin olive oil, the most famous in the world for its unique characteristics.
For this reason, in the 90s, Fattoria Montecchio, already producer of oil from its 5000 centuries old olive trees, decided to create an olive mill. Although respecting all the international quality and safety regulations now in force, our land’s ancient traditions still remain.
Housed in what was once an old storehouse for tractors and other agricultural machinery, our olive press is where tradition and innovation live side by side in perfect harmony.
You can attend the thousand year old custom of olive pressing every year in November when la Fattoria Montecchio’s olives are pressed to produce an oil that is one of the best in the industry.
