Montecchio´s Farm ,once belonged to one of the noblest families in Tuscany ,the Torrigiani, is the heart of a property of more than 300 hcts,in the oldest part of the Chianti Classico area, with the ideal altitude of 400 metres.

We are located in Tuscany - in the heart of Chianti Classico region .
The Estate is about three hundred hectares large (about 120 acres) of which nearly forty as specialized vineyards and thirty as olive-groves .
The Farm´s core is the main Villa, once belonging to Marquis Torrigiani Family, and the historical Farm complex, in which all the activities are related to the production of Chianti Classico DOCG.

In a separate building there is the ancient Oil-Mill, one of the last which we are proud to produce our Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Always part of the Farm, The kiln, one of the oldest and renowned of this area where, even today we produce the Tuscan Antifreeze Terracotta following the ancient traditional handicraft.
Visitors are particularly moved while watching the manufacturing of each single object.

Mr. Nuti, the owner of Fattoria di Montecchio, purchased the farm in 1965, with the desire to give a new life to the wine and the olive growing activities.

The best clonally selection of the Sangiovese grape is the base of the wine formula , while we also grown international varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon , Merlot and Syrah .

The cellar is currently being renovated: new barrels and tonneaux made from French oak have been introduced.
Actually, the annual production is about 250.000 bottles .

Our most renowned wines are Chianti Classico Gallo Nero Docg and Chianti Classico Riserva Docg , followed by two very important Super Tuscany, Selection Pietracupa and Selection La Papessa

Inside the Farm, we also have the oil press facilities where , with the process of the "first cold press" ,we pressed our olives to obtain the Extra Virgin Oil DOP of Montecchio Estate .

We are glad to organize reception for Wine and Olive Oil Tasting with a guided visit to the Cellars,the Oil press facilities and, on request, the Terracotta Factory.
